Lesson Plan 3: The In-Class Portion Post-Peer Review
Objective: At this point, everybody has their online peer review feedback. In this class after taking time to read over your comments, the pairs/groups are going to meet up to make sure that everything in their comments makes sense as well as discuss together what changes they can make. This is supposed to be the wrap up of peer review for the assignment and serves as a clarification for the peer so that they can finish the final draft and get a good grade on it!

Materials Needed (Jenna):
Time Estimate: 15 Minutes
Lesson Plan:
Method of Assessing the Objective: The debrief discussion will be my way of assessing the overall objective of online peer review. In terms of this specific lesson plan, me floating around the room during their meetings will be my way of assessing the objective. I will be going around to each group and make sure that they’re talking about their feedback as well as discussing ways that they can make improvements in their papers.
Materials Needed (Students):
- Laptops to access their peer reviews
Materials Needed (Jenna):
- Nothing
Time Estimate: 15 Minutes
Lesson Plan:
- 0:00-0:01 -- Have peer review pairs/groups get together and talk about the feedback they got as well as talk to each other about ways you’re thinking about fixing their papers with the suggestions that their peer gave them.
- 0:01-0:10 -- At this time, walk around and pop in on all the groups. Act as a resource and see how it went.
- 0:10-0:15 -- Gather back and have a very short debriefing of how online peer review went for them. Questions to consider:
- How did it go? Tell me your experience!
- Compare this to in-class peer review, which one do you like better and why?
- What are things that you liked about online peer review?
- What are things that I can improve on for the next assignment?
