Feedback
Here, I have attached feedback that I received from my students this semester relating to my Learning Artifact.
"In my opinion, having a Teaching Assistant for this class was incredibly useful. I really liked Jenna’s idea of outlining that she emphasized during her presentation, because I had only outlined a paper one other time before. Outlining my paper was a vital part of my writing process for the Final Position Paper, and I don’t think I would have been able to properly plan out and organize my paper. Outlining also allowed me to play around with essay structure, as I organized my paper in the following way: personal anecdote, intro paragraph with conclusion, thesis, naysayers, counterarguments, my proposed solution, justification of the solution, and a conclusion. It was also reassuring to have Jenna as a TA, because I knew I could ask her for help or general questions and she would be able to respond to me more readily than Professor Kim would be able to (like asking last minutes paper questions the night before it’s due)."
"For the organization of this paper, I made an outline as Jenna suggested, and this helped me to figure out the structure. I started with background about my topic and exigence. I then went into my position and split up each of my three suggested solutions into different paragraphs. I then discussed the point of view from the naysayer, refuted their perspective, and concluded my essay."
"It was extremely helpful to gain insight assignments and particularly tips and tricks from another student that has taken the class in the past and was successful. The tips for writing outlines for the position paper and other advice we were given in class from a former student’s perspective helped me find my footing on certain papers."
